Watch: Tinashe Previews New Project ‘Songs For You’

Tinashe is taking matters into her own hands.

Now removed from her contract with Sony Music, the entertainer has her eye on independent glory with a new project named ‘Songs For You.’

Today she kicks off its campaign by releasing a personal trailer designed to generate excitement for the release. A release, she launched in the city of London on October 8th.

It’s an exciting time for a promising Pop princess.

Her breakout album ‘Aquarius‘ was released in 2014 and delivered her biggest hit to date ‘2 On.’

    I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited for a project. This is how music is suppose to be man. I know it wouldn’t be a huge seller but that doesn’t matter, I care about her an artist giving me her art.

    Yes this is fine and all – but what is the rollout strategy beyond a listening party for 50 fans? ? TINASHE needs to decide what she wants – does she want to remain underground with a small non mainstream fan base making music she loves and those 50 people love. Or is she going to find producers who stretch her to remain authentic but relevant with mainstream appeal – because Drake has mainstream appeal and has straddled pop and urban successfully. She needs to not delude her self that making authentic music she loves is gonna pop on the charts – because it does not work like that. Give people a reason to get into you and they will.
